Milton Keynes, UK, 8 November, 2024 – The new California, the latest generation of the iconic campervan, is available to order today online or from a UK Van Centre.
Available in three highly-specified trims: Beach Camper, Coast and Ocean; with a choice of three powertrains: diesel, petrol or plug-in hybrid; the newest model is priced from £63,3761 with first customer deliveries from winter 2024.
The most versatile and innovative version yet, the new California remains true to the spirit of its iconic predecessors. A completely redesigned interior provides more space and sophistication than ever before.
To celebrate order books opening, until 6 January 2025, the new California Ocean 2.0 TDI 150 PS is available from £549 per month with 6.9% APR Representative on a Solutions Personal Contract Plan (PCP), available on a 48- or 60-month, 10,000 mile per annum contract, which includes a £2,000 deposit contribution from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.

Engineer Aftercare View There is no way to navigate around the fact, that VW campers along with pretty much all other brands of campers from bespoke conversions to Camper King one of the premium manufacturers, are now relatively expensive. The key to ownership though is are they not just affordable, but also a long term good investment? The answer is in the long term in our view yes! But there are some caveats to that statement.
- Keep your vehicle fully serviced and habitation checked. That means following the motor manufacturer recommended servicing annually and bi-annually. Ensure you book the annual AWS approved workshop annual Habitation Check. (The safety gas, water ingress and appliance reliability service
- Keep a copy of every invoice for not only the servicing, but also receipts for all purchases such as tyres, spares, enhancements and replacement parts
- Become a member of a campervan owners club. There are hundreds of small campervan owners clubs along with the two national ones Caravan and Camping Club and Caravan and Motorhome Club
- Regularly clean and maintain your Camper and store it with care, even on your own drive outside, you can regularly start your engine, drive an occasional distance and move the van so that your tyres dont develop ‘Flats’
